Hey, whats good everyone My name is King. I'm an accent dialect coach here at Language Academia. if you are talking New York. But when you are out West Coast. Get it right. Welcome to Language Academia. I specialize in African American Vernacular English and culture. My favorite phrase is to "never look down at a person unless you are helping to pick them up”. What I teach: African American Vernacular English and urban speech West African accents New York and LA regional accents Something I learned a long time ago is that if you are told you are an elephant you should take it with a grain of salt but if multiple people tell you you are an elephant you need to go out and get peanuts. One of the things I'm most proud about my culture is the originality. We’ve been through a lot of things and a lot of the culture has come from struggle and its come from excitement but mainly happiness because we were able to stay together and that’s my biggest proud moment of our culture. I'm so excited to be a part of your language journey. We are Language Academia.

David “King” Orr is a Los Angeles–based voice and speech coach, actor, and educator from Indianapolis, Indiana. With over 30 years of experience in stage, television, and film, he helps actors develop authentic, confident, and performance-ready voices.
Trained in Meisner, Uta Hagen, and Stanislavski techniques, King specializes in American speech, American Urban dialects, and West African–influenced linguistic traditions. He has taught at the Dustin Felder Actors Studio and coached actors currently working in television.
King also teaches African American history, culture, and English dialects, bringing depth, authenticity, and mentorship to every session.
