I also received my Bachelor's degree in applied linguistics and I started my teaching career as a Chinese teacher n Taiwan I've taught Mandarin Chinese classes at San Fransisco State University and UC Davis. 下课 (class dismissed) My favorite phrase in Chinese is 你今天怎么样 (How is your day today?) which means “How is your day today?”. “...maybe your favorite word if you're taking any Chinese class. ABOUT CRYSTAL
Crystal Hsia is a Los Angeles–based Mandarin Chinese educator specializing in Business Mandarin and professional communication. She helps adult learners and global professionals develop fluency, cultural competence, and confidence for real-world and corporate environments.
She founded Mandarin For U in San Francisco in 2016 and has taught at institutions including the University of California, Davis and San Francisco State University. Her experience spans curriculum development, blended learning, and computer-assisted language instruction, with a focus on practical and results-driven education.
Crystal is a member of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages and the American Association for Applied Linguistics. She also serves as a Duolingo Language Ambassador, promoting language education and cross-cultural understanding through community initiatives.
