Katherine is our team leader and one and only support. Katherine spent her middle and highschool years assisting in the field of Forensic, Cultural, Linguistics , and War Anthropology. Katherine afterwards received a Master's degree in Anthropology for Oxford University, in UK. Right now Katherine is leading and overseeing majority of projects.

Katherine is our most reliable support in Curriculum Development, Project Management, Con Language, Translations, Interpretations, and Localizations.

Graciela Metzler
Hispanic Group of Languages

She graduated with a B.A. in Art History Education and an M.A. in Art History from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. After moving to the U.S., she completed her M.B.A. at Loyola University New Orleans. Her college experiences in both English and Spanish helped her become 100% bilingual, and gave her a deep understanding of what it's like to be a student. She has been teaching Spanish for the last 20 years, including at St. Rose Elementary, Luling Middle School, Halstrom Academy, and City Kids LA. Additionally, she has tutored both groups and individuals for the past 20 years in ESL, reading, math, language arts, and homework help. She has taught Spanish to English speakers and English to Spanish speakers, which has given her a thorough understanding of both languages.

Barbara Saba
Latin languages and ancient Greek

Barbara was born and raised in Rome, where she graduated in Philosophy in 2005 and worked as a teacher of Philosophy, Italian, Ancient Latin, and Greek at a private university called Unimarconi.

She moved to LA in 2016 and since then, has been teaching Italian to children and adults. In 2020, she graduated in Theology from Ezra University.

Barbara is also a playwright, a songwriter, and happily married.

Mariko Ban
Japanese and French

Raised and educated in France, Japan, and the U.S., Mariko has a lot in common with new language learners. Learning a new language can be intimidating, but with her extensive experience teaching English and Japanese, she will make her students feel comfortable and empowered in their journeys.

Mariko holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and a Master's degree in International Relations. She enjoys spending time with her family and dancing, especially ballet, in her free time.

Dylan Wang
Chinese languages
Dylan Wang graduated with a B.A. in Literature and an M.A. degree in Chinese and English translation. He has been teaching English and Chinese for 12 years. Originally from China, he is very familiar with Chinese traditional culture and arts. Dylan uses songs, movies, stories, pictures, and calligraphy to teach Chinese characters, standard Mandarin speaking, and Chinese traditional culture. Learning Chinese with Dylan is a lot of fun.

Roberto Ranieri
Italian

Roberto Ranieri was raised and born in Bologna, Italy, and studied philosophy, literature, and linguistics in Bologna and Milan. He was awarded a Ph.D. with a thesis on Hermeneutics, and since then, he kept on studying and researching in the field of hermeneutics and interpretation. He lives in Los Angeles since 2016 and is passionate about outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, skiing, and swimming.

Kotaro Watanabe
Japanese

Kotaro was born and raised in Japan and moved to New York City to study acting after receiving a BA in English Literature from Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan.  He reads, writes, and speaks Japanese fluently. 
He has experience teaching Japanese and coaching actors on speaking Japanese to prepare for TV and Film auditions. 


He is a big fan of Japanese movies. Akira Kurosawa and Yasujiro Ozu are his favorite directors and he can talk on and on about their movies.

Vasyl Bobrov

Vasyl Bobrov is a Ukrainian and Russian language trainer with more than ten years of international teaching experience in Slavic and Germanic languages. Vasyl holds a Bachelor's Degree in Linguistics and Language Teaching. He specializes in the communicative approach to teaching languages (Ukrainian, Russian, German, and English), phonology, and accent reduction. Vasyl uses his positive attitude and tireless energy to encourage his students to work hard and succeed. In his free time, Vasyl likes to travel and cook.

Her passion for languages led her to pursue a bachelor's degree in English in 2017 and a master's degree in translation in 2022. These degrees provided her with a comprehensive understanding of both French and English. Being a native French speaker and an English learner, she developed her skills as a translator in both languages.

Currently residing in Los Angeles, far from her home country of France, she is eager to share her language and culture with others. Having previously worked as a tutor in Paris, she found joy in witnessing her students grow more confident in their second language.

During her leisure time, she enjoys engaging in indoor bouldering, playing basketball, and exploring arts and crafts activities.

As a native speaker of Arabic, and a professional translator and interpreter, I have full mastery of both Modern Standard and Classical Arabic, and I am capable of teaching both through proficiency-based and communicative methods, in addition to my mastery of almost all the Arabic dialects and the mastery of linguistic, social, and cultural nuances between the Arab countries.
I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature, a Master’s Degree in Translation Studies, and a Doctorate Degree in Translation of Science and Technology (English-Arabic-English) From Algeria. I have taught Arabic and English for the past five years in Algeria, Turkey, and the USA.

Rutilio is from Mexico, where his family still lives to this day. He often travels back to visit them.

A native English Speaker, Timothy grew up in Iowa and received his bachelor's degree in linguistics and Korean from The Ohio State University before pursuing his master’s degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Iowa. He has experience working in the medical setting as well as tutoring English in a variety of settings.

Timothy utilizes his background in phonetics, phonology, and speech science to teach accent reduction based on Standard American English pronunciation. He enjoys helping international students and non-native English speakers work towards their goals and increase confidence with their communication skills.

Christine has taught Voice and Speech at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City. She has studied Acting, Voice and Movement at The Raphael Kelly Shakespeare Studio where the training was based on that of the Central School of Speech and Drama in the UK. She has appeared in numerous theatrical productions, independent films and commercials. She is thrilled to be a part of Language Academia!

IPA: Accents, Voice, and Dialects

Joseph Tisa is an actor and accent coach based out of Los Angeles. He holds an MFA in Acting from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. He was trained in the context of Edith Skinner's "classical" method, and he has worked on vocal technique with certified Fitzmaurice Voicework teachers. In addition to appearing in productions at regional theaters all around the country as an actor himself, Joseph has coached private clients in acting and accents for a number of years. He has also been engaged as an accent coach for several theatrical productions, including "Stones in His Pockets", "All the Way", and "The Great Society" at Lyric Repertory Company in Utah.

Joseph focuses on guiding his clients toward developing a facility for identifying and producing the specific and representative sounds, vocal postures, tonal characteristics, and rhythms of a given accent in order to establish authenticity and ease in their work.
